Getting more out of your radiometer
The new “fast” radiometer control unit Linard is designed for high precision solar irradiance measurements using a PMO8 sensor from Davos Instruments or a PMO6 sensor from PMOD/WRC. It is compatible with PMO6-cc sensors. PMO6-CIR sensors can be adapted. The unit features sensor control, data acquisition and storage, as well as a convenient user interface.
The Linard Control Unit got its name from the 3410 high peak Piz Linard in the Silvretta region.
Key Benefits
– Fast measurement cycles are possible, 30 s measurement cadence (15 s open/ 15 s closed phase).
– No additional voltmeters are needed, it is all integrated.
– Data quality flagging allows the user to automatically reject data-points.
– The internal database can store up to 8 GB of data . Processed and raw data of any previous measurement-series can be exported.
– Network capabilities (Ethernet connection and limited WLAN features).
– A intuitive web interface (optimised for computer and mobile devices) makes the operation a pleasure.
– A REST-API with simple http-request syntax makes it easy to integrate into your own program.
– Continuous time synchronisation with NTP and/or GPS ensures accurate timing.
– Controlling multiple Linard units from a single Linard unit
Upgrade process
In order to upgrade your existing PMO6 sensor, your existing sensor will be integrated and tested in Davos with your new control unit in order to guarantee an optimal system configuration. Due to our proximity to PMOD/WRC a calibration certificate for the new configuration can be obtained at the same time.
Software updates
Davos Instruments offers regular software updates for the Linard control unit. New convenient features are planned for future releases, such as:
– RS485 connectivity/ModBus protocol
– Data acquisition from smart devices such as Pyrheliometers/Pyranometers that are to be calibrated.
– Integration into WLAN Networks
Custom Solutions And Support
If you have your own data acquisition software and wish to integrate the Linard Control Unit, we are happy to provide you with Pyhton code examples.
If you are in need of a custom solution for example synchronising with an HF-Radiometer/34972A Data-Acquisition, individual software can be offered upon request.
